A former Senate Majority Leader, Muhammed Ndume has described the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar as a desperate politician who would go the extra mile to emerge victorious in the 2019 Presidential Election.
Ndume said this while speaking at the APC zonal stakeholders’ meeting in Bauchi.
He said Buhari and the APC were confident of victory come 2019.
He, however, noted that the party was not taking its weakest opponent for granted.
He disclosed that the party ahead of 2019 election was putting in more efforts to solve internal crisis in order to ensure a landslide victory.
“We are mindful of the fact that you don’t take even your weakest opponent for granted.
“That’s why we are doing everything to ensure that we resolve our internal scuffles on time so that we can face the bigger fight ahead 2019.
“A way forward for the APC, is to address it’s grievances that arose from the party’s primaries across the country.
“We all know that the PDP presidential candidate is an aggressive politician, and in recent times we can say he is also a desperate politician. So we don’t want to take anything for granted.”
Also speaking, Adamawa State Governor, Jibrilla Bindow, told the APC gathering in Bauchi that the zone must do everything in its powers to ensure his kinsman is defeated.
According to him, Atiku is a ‘crafty politician who can go extra mile to win the election.
“The first step towards defeating the former vice president is to unite the APC and reconcile all the grievances.
“We cannot pretend not to know the capacity of Atiku Abubakar as a crafty politician who can go extra mile to achieve his goals,” he said.
