The President General of the apex Igbo socio-political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo has again charged Southeast people to look out only for candidates with sincere restructuring agenda and cast their votes for them in 2019 general elections.
Chief Nwodo told a gathering of intellectuals and traditional rulers in Obollo-Etiti, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu state on Thursday that only restructuring the political system will save the country from the current state of inertia in governance prevalent in the land.
Nwodo said that the people should vote for a system that would help Nigeria join the rest of the World in the emerging global index.
He enjoined the people to show more than passing interest in on-going electioneering in the country and pick leaders that would take the country a higher and better level.
Nwodo stated that good representation in government is dependent on the type of choice the people make while voting as he urged them to make wise voting decisions.
“Ndigbo and the rest of the country should think of having a political system that will help them join the rest of the emerging technology driven world”, he said.
He added that the understanding goings on between Ohanaeze and other ethnic nationalities in the country is aimed at creating a better Nigeria where justice will be the basis of existence.
