The chairman, Ebubechukwuzo Foundation, Emeka Jovita has absolved his principal, Aloysius Ikegwuonwu of his alleged involvement in a business feud that allegedly led to the Sunday killing of no fewer than 12 people at the St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Anambra State.
Aloysius Ikegwuonwu has been named as the prime target of the attack.
Emeka said Ikegwuonwu was not a drug baron and had never been involved in any dirty deal.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka yesterday, the aide described the incident as purely a terrorist attack which had nothing to do with disagreement over a business transaction as alleged.
He disclosed that his principal, an estate developer in South Africa, was also into importation of beverages and spare parts from China.
“What happened on Sunday left us in a state of confusion. That incident is purely terrorism. The information trending all over that Ebubechukwuzo is having a feud with somebody is completely false. People say he is a drug baron and that he took some money from some people who are now after him and so many other stories. They are just stories. This is a man I know very well and have been close to him since our secondary school days,” he said.
