Canary Wharf Group is the developer of the largest urban regeneration project in Europe.
To celebrate this year’s Black History Month in October, Canary Wharf Arts + Events and the AOP are holding a special month-long exhibition at the Crossrail Place Roof Garden in Canary Wharf. We will be celebrating black culture both through images and the stories of the photographers who have taken them.
The theme is open to personal interpretation from each photographer, inviting both established and emerging photographers to enter. From the creativity, beauty and strength that is found within the Black community in Britain to the challenges faced, we are inviting you to enter your best images and celebrate Black Culture in Britain with us. Entries are open to all backgrounds; however, we would particularly encourage those whose personal life experiences and heritage mean they are connected to the subject matter in a personal way.
Selected images will be displayed at a special exhibition in the Crossrail Place Roof Garden, Canary Wharf throughout the month October 2021. In addition, there are prizes of a £700 and £300 Canary Wharf retail gift card for the Gold and Silver winners respectively, as well as a year’s membership to the AOP.
Judges include members of AOP for All, a group striving to increase awareness of photographers of colour by making both them, and their work more visible within the industry.
