Just In: Fatiu Akiolu Emerges as New LASAA GM

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Fatiu Akiolu, an accomplished figure in the advertising field, as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Signage & Advertisement Agency (LASAA).

This decision, announced in a statement by the Head Of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, is attributed to Akiolu’s notable contributions to the advertising industry. His official assumption of duties is slated for Monday, September 18, with expectations set for him to lead the agency in making significant contributions to Lagos’ Gross Domestic Product.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s choice to designate Akiolu reflects a broader initiative to revamp LASAA, aiming for enhanced performance and progress within the state, as stated in the release.

Akiolu, who is the son of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, succeeds Adedamola Docemo, who presided over the agency since 2019 before being replaced three months after the governor’s re-election.

Noteworthy for founding the outdoor media enterprise, Regno Media, located in Lagos, Akiolu has demonstrated a deep understanding of the industry through a portfolio of impactful projects.

“His accomplishments at Regno Media have garnered recognition in the advertising domain. His triumphs are credited to his entrepreneurial acumen, diversified experience in advertising spheres, and proficiency in sales, marketing, strategic planning, client and project management, and effective implementation of ideas. Experts have also lauded his adeptness in resource management and ability to foster cohesive teamwork,” the statement further added.
