Nigerian footballer arrested for visa forgery in India

Nigerian footballer, Daniel Bidemiayen popularly known as Daniel Bidemi based in India was arrested on Wednesday, for overstaying in the country with a fake visa and using it to work and live in the country. Cops said the SCO (Security Control Organisation) received information that Daniel Bidemi had forged the passport and visa sometime in June 2015.  Based on the information, SCO officers raided the Madurdaha apartment which Bidemi had been renting and arrested him. Bidemi is a well-known Nigerian footballer in the Kolkata football circle. A versatile footballer who plays in different positions, he played for Mohun Bagan in 2016 besides representing numerous Calcutta Football League clubs such as Chirag United SC, Mohammedan Sporting, Calcutta Port Trust, Bhowanipore FC, Tollygunge Agragami and Police AC since his arrival in India in 2008. Besides playing in Kolkata, Bedemi has also played the I-League for Shillong Lajong FC and Sporting Clube de.
