ABUJA— 2018 National Appropriation Bill will be submitted to the National Assembly in October, 2017. Senator Ita Enang, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate), disclosed this when he appeared at the News Agency of Nigeria Forum in Abuja, weekend.
You would recall that the National Assembly had last year fixed October as deadline for the submission of the bill.
Enang said the Federal Government accepted the deadline as pertinent and was committed to meeting it.
He iterated that federal government was working conscientiously to ensure that the deadline was complied with to take the country back to the annual budget calender of January to December.
“The ministers are already appearing before the ministry and defending their submissions. It is intended that in the next few days they would have completed the exercise and have the total of the budget as well as get ready with the final draft. Everything is being done to ensure that we keep to the date.” he said.
