Reps disagree over anti-Buhari plot

Some members of the House of Representatives have disagreed over the reported plot by some lawmakers to move a motion seeking to investigate the health of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement yesterday, Pat Asadu (PDP, Enugu) dismissed the report as untrue saying “I read with utmost dismay the report published on Monday, where it was alleged that some members of the House of Representatives tried to bring a motion to the floor seeking an investigation into the health of the president.

“To state categorically, the intent of the report was conceived in bad taste, and is attempt by desperate power mongers to infiltrate the ranks of the House by dividing members along party, regional and religious lines. The report is utter nonsense and rubbish, as it contains no iota of truth to it” he said.

But in reaction to the issue, Usman Babba Kaita (APC, Katsina) said “the plot was very true. The National Assembly is too big for everybody to know everything. If he (Asadu) doesn’t know this, it remains that he doesn’t know, but there are people who are in the know.

“He should ask questions and those that know about it will tell him. So, the plot was real, but it was aborted. I can confirm this anywhere.”
