You will recall that we had reported the emerged United Labour Congress (ULC), purported strike action on thursday, that the group would begins an industrial actions against the federal Government on friday.
The strike has commenced yesterday with a gradual shut down of some critical sectors of the nation’s economy, ahead of total shut down from Monday.
Also, You could recalled that the ULC’s President Comrade Joe Ajaero said that If the federal Government refused to accommodate these demands it shall be compelled to embark on the proposed strike without further warnings.
However, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige was yesterday quoted as describing ULC as illegal and planning to engage in economic sabotage by their planned nationwide strike.
