Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele, has said Lionel Messi is the perfect partner to play alongside in attack because he draws opposition defenders to himself and give chances to others to score.
Both players have struck a good chemistry this season, netting 43 goals between them in all competitions.
Dembele has arguably now filled the gap left by Neymar, after the Brazilian departed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, to escape Messi’s shadow.
However, the France international, is happy to let Messi carry the responsibility against teams.
“It’s great, he makes football easier.
“I give him the ball and he does incredible things.
“When he’s on the pitch it’s easier for a forward, because the rivals focus mainly on him,” Dembele told Barca’s website.
Messi was again the match winner, as they beat Real Valladolid 1-0 on Saturday, to open a nine-point gap ahead of rivals Real Madrid in the process making another milestobe to become the first player across Europe top 5 leagues to have crossed the 30 goals barrier and also making him the first player to have crossed the 30 goals barrier in his previous 9 campaigns .
