Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the attack on popularly entertainer charles Oputa also known as Charlyboy during a protest I Abuja on Tuesday.
Charlyboy and his group left their meeting point at Unity Fountain and decided to take their campaign to the popular Wuse Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Upon their arrival, they were attacked with stones by sympathizers of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fani-Kayode, writing on his Twitter page, said that Nigeria would have “exploded” if Charlyboy was murdered.
He tweeted: “The Buhari govt. is a murderous contraption that has no respect for human rights. Charly Boy Oputa could have been murdered by Buhari’s footsoldiers today.
“If that had happened Nigeria would have exploded. Tension grips the land as we approach Oct.1st. WE MUST REJECT VIOLENCE!”
